ACTIVITIES IN PRIMARY SECTION KV AFS BARNALA
Cluster level competition was organized to facilitate exchange of various inmate competencies prevalent in the budding students. Our students participated in these competitions held at KV-1, KV-2 Halwara on 11 Nov 2008. Thirty four students participated in Clay modeling, Hindi/English, poetry recitation, group dance and won 5 prizes along with 3rd position in the group dance. On 12 Nov 2008 ten students from our vidyalaya participated in ‘Best out of waste material’, Drawing Painting and slogan writing & brought laurels by winning three prizes. Our vidyalaya played the host to these competitions on 12 Nov 2008. Various competitions including Rangoli, mental math spellings in Hindi and English marked the occasion. Four schools from the vicinity KV 1 and 2 Halwara, KV Baddowal participated in these events , in all 72 students participated and our school won 22 prizes in all. The cluster level competition was held to promote all round development of the students and facilitate divergent thinking in order to tap creativity. Madam Principal Dr. Mrs Sandhya Sharma awarded the winners.
CCA Activities (secondary section) :
National Education Day was observed at KV AFS Barnala on 11 Nov 2008
to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of DR. Abdul Kalam Azad by organizing various competitions such as Essay Writing, Slogan writing and debate.
Principal DR. Sandhya Sharma addressed the students and motivated them to excel in the field of education. She emphasized the value of education for a civilized society.
Childrens’ day(14th Nov) was celebrated with full zeal by the students of primary wing.
Debate :
IX-B class students conducted Debate competition. The topic was ‘TV is a blessing’. Principal DR. Sandhya Sharma presided over the function. she had all praise for the students as this activity was arranged by the students themselves only under the supervision of the subject teacher Mrs Usha TGT Eng. The main aim was to develop the following skills.
- Speaking skill
- listening skill
- writing skill
All the students enjoyed it.
MUSIC DEPARTMENT:
Participated in social science exhibition in jharkhand. Participated in dance and patriotic group song and brought appreciation to the vidyalaya in KV 4 Bathinda on 02.08.2008.

TEACHERS'DAY REPORT
Teachers' day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr S. Radhakrishan, the great educationist.
The day began by offering flowers to pay homage to aminant educationist and his contribution to uplift the standard of education. Principal Dr Mrs. Sandhya Sharma delivered a speech, high lighting the role of Dr. S. Radhakrishan as a teacher and appealing the teaching community to follow the path shown by the great visionary. She said that a teacher is the epitome of light who shows the direction to his disciples to scale greater horizons and
be a socially useful person.
On this day teachers organized the morning assembly and the senior most class-XII played the role of teachers. Many fun activities such as tug of war and musical chair were organized to facilitate the mutual interaction between students and teachers. In the end the pupil teachers expressed their views regarding teaching profession and they paid tribune to the teachers who had played a major role in shaping their personality.
It was a great day dedicated to the sprit of teaching community and their vital role in shaping the future of a civilized society.
